It is the branch of the illuminati in America that is not a part of our government.Yet it dictates foreign policy pushing the USA and all the nations toward a One World Government. It is the same as the RIIA in England. They allow dupes to join to give it a veneer of credibility.

To quote Former FBI agent Dan Smoot, " The purpose of the CFR was to create (and condition the american people to accept) what House [Mandell House, corrupt advisor to President Wilson] called a "positive" foreign policyfor America---to replace the traditional "negative" foreign policy which had kept America out of endless turmoil of old-world politics and had permitted American people to develop their great nation in freedom and independence from the rest of the world."

However the most dangerous aspect of the CFR is that it furnishes the personnel for most of the upper echelon positions within the United States government.

Former John Kennedy aide aide Art Schlesinger, Jr., pretty well summed things luup by saying:

The New York financial and legal community was the heart of the American Establishment. It's household deitites were Henry L Stimson [Skull and Bones, '88] and Elihu Root [Whitney's attorney]; its present leaders, Robert A. Lovett [Skull and Bones '18], and John J. McCloy; its front organizations, the Rockerfeller, Ford and Carnegie Foundations [inflitrated by The Order] and the Council on Foreign Relations[initiated by The Group]*.

It's much more and have not explained the other groups as this book reaches across oceans and hundreds of years to present (to the Iraq War), but someone touched it. Your question is correct this could be a reason why we have been where we have been. Take care.

They're a policy institute.

They basically just analyze foreign relations and offer their commentary.

It's mission statement: "The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries."
