The green sticker on the helmet is to indicate that the player has communication with the sideline or upstairs coaching staff. They can not talk back to the coaching staff just hear them out, but this device shuts off at the :15 second of the play clock of every play.

It is a scratch-and-sniff fruit sticker. It helps the players in the backfield know the play better based on the smell. You might see a player run up and scratch the back of a QBs helmet throughout the game just to confirm the play.

The real question is why do the stickers have helmets with quarterback's heads in them?

the green sticker is a new rule by the nfl, making nfl quarterbacks were it indicating that the helmet is wired with a radio for calling in plays. It also cues the ref on who has the transmittor.

I believe its to notify the ref and all others the leader of the offence. And when refs through penatlys, It could be called "Roughing the passer". Not a personal foul.

And to let people know they have a headpiece in there ears!

it's to help the RunningBacks know which guy is gonna hand the ball off to them. Football players aren't very bright, you know.
