Just want some of you to judge me on this

1. I am a Eagle Scout (Boy Scouts) proving my leadership.
2. Driven my councelors in High School insane by visiting them often.
3. About 3.0+ GPA
I understand that id serve 5 years in the military and 3 in reservers
4. Lettered in Cross Country and Track for four years in a row
5. Started several clubs and held lots of events for them.

You have as good a chance as any of the other 20,000 students applying for the positions. Go to the websites and look over the requirements. Write your Congressperson and Senator with your intention. Visit your local Army & Navy recruiter and ask them how you can get into the academies. (Don't Sign anything while you are there, though!) They will want to get your name and contact information for their quotas, but you aren't obligated in any way. The recruiters will let you know about back-door appointment opportunities that aren't generally known.

You will need a second language, Farsi, Arabic, or Chinese would be the best option to get in, but other languages will help. (Knowing a second language shows that you can learn new skills, and solve problems). You will also want to have good mathematics grades. West Point is an Engineering School.

There is a Congressional Gold and Silver award, look them up and apply for the awards. The more stuff you can list on your application, the better your chances.

Think about what your post-school career goals are. How will attending the service academies aid you in this goal? Also think about what will you do if you don't get accepted?
