When you burn any carbon based fuel you generate CO2, so anything you can do to cut down on burning fuel is automatically a great idea.
Lower thermostat in the winter to 65 in the day and 60 at night saves a lot of fuel, but the people in the house have to bundle up.
Cooking on a gas stove: make a lot of food at one time to use the oven's heat efficiently and then warm the leftovers in a microwave later in the week.
Caulk the windows and doors to save heated air from escaping the house.
Run the bathroom fan for no more than 5 minutes after a shower to keep the warmed air in the house.
Leave the blinds up when you are home on a sunny day on the south side of your house to let those free solar rays inside, so you don't have to burn fuel to keep warm, but close the blinds and curtains at night to hold in the heat.

Climate change is a naturally-occurring thing as old as the planet itself and nothing I do in my home will speed it up or slow it down.
