I've never been there and have no desire to go there.I live in Ohio.

Once you go off the Strip and away from the tourist areas like Downtown and by the Palms and Hard Rock, the Las Vegas area is pretty much as generic as any other town. Gas is only about 25 cents a gallon cheaper. =) There's really no "secret underworld" for the locals - you just have to look around. Yes, there ARE times that it's an advantage to be a local - many clubs waive their cover charge, show tickets can be cheaper, stuff like that. But living here is VERY different from being a tourist here. I came here for 15 years before I decided to move here six months ago. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. I find that if you live here, you either love it or hate it - there's no middle ground. I love it here. Most locals - myself included - generally stay away from the Strip for the most part. Too much traffic. It's cheaper to live here than it is in NYC, LA, or Miami, but jobs are few and far between right now - unless you work in healthcare.

ME I have never been to Vegas but so want to go one day. I'm 28 almost 29 and have never been, that's so sad! I have a friend of mine who's daughter is going to college in Vegas and she says its a fun place. I hope I get to go one day. I just need to save up enough money first. I live in Kentucky. =)

i never have. i live in san francisco and travel around the USa, but Vegas is out of my way.
