News will begin to focus on reversal of Earth's magnetic field. It's real, and coming soon. The biggest problem is the loss of the field for a period. No protection from solar storms. This will have far greater impact on us than global warming, at least for the next few years. There is a possibility that the Earth's rotation will also be upset. Earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis; not nice.
