Spirit Boards (AKA) Ouija Boards.
these boards are commonly used for "divination" thus invoking the spirit world. any one not in tune with the spirit world using one has absolutely no control over what comes out of it.
It has been "reputed" to open a door way into the spirit relm & allow not so nice things into your realm!
My friend burned her's only to find it in her closet 3 days later!

There is really no point explaining to you why this is a dangerous idea b.c you already have your mind set that it's not real...so here's my rational to you-Why give a kid a game that doesn't work? Why give them something that may provoke fear in them? Why spend your money on a totally useless waste ?

Why not buy them something they will love and cherish or at the least be delighted about?-something that won't play with their mind and freak them out so that they have to sleep with a night light...b.c fear sucks

I hear there are some really neat robotic type toys out now in the shape of animals-with extraordinary features..or buy them a CD whatever preteens are into these days.

anyways..I just feel if you don't believe in them-it's a waste of money-and if you do believe in them-it's like handing them over a knife with a sharp blade knowingly...

so you decide rationally what the right thing to do is..

All I know is that if I had a choice between a childs toy or a preteens gaget-and something ppl thought was evil....i wouldn't get the evil thing..

What makes a Ouija Board dangerous is not the board, but the act of using one. The idea of the Ouija Board is to summons a Spirit , to answer your questions. When the board works, guess what??? You have a Spirit…. What happens when you put the board away? Well you have just opened a door to a Spirit and all of his friends, and what ever else see this door. Just because you don’t want to play anymore, doesn’t mean a thing. Well good luck, and your going to have fun trying to get rid of it.

Here is my personal experience:
When I asked the spirit what are the names of my future boyfriends, it only revealed the letter "M." All my three ex-boyfriends were named Marcus, Matthew and Mark. I felt like I was cursed since all three relationships went down the drain. My last relationship lasted for 4 years and I thought we would make it and break the curse.
I'm usually not a believer in superstitions and Ouija Boards, however, this incident has been giving me the creeps for years. Now I refuse to associate with people (especially guys) whose names start with the letter “M”.
Paranoid? Perhaps. Think it was all a coincident? You be the judge.

My daughters aunt is a witch, ouija boards are real, and they are very dangerous. I had a very bad experience with one, and I had to get rid of it, cause it did not seem to like me very much. When you play with a ouija board, you are opening up the gates of the underworld, like hell ect. When I played it, it got so bad, that I had to call a preacher, just so he could tell me what I needed to do. There are certain spirits that comes out of the board, when you play them for so long. You might get spirits that use to be human, then you will get some that are not human, if you know what I mean. Honey, we all have a third eye, did you know that? If God allowed us to see all the things that is really around us in this world, we would die of fright. We would not be able to handle it.There are so many things that is happening around us that we are not aware of that would frighten us, but it is not for us to see. Our third eye is for the spiritual world. Why do you think that certain weird things happen to us every once in a while that we might experience, that is not normal, or shall I say not apart of this world. Things we might see, like you might see a spirit or something of that nature. The supernatural is there wheather you want to beleive it or not. For example, my mother just passed 2 mos. ago. When she first died, I didn't have any out of the ordinanry experiances. When my mom got creamated, and I brought her ashes home, and put them on my mantal, there are little suttle things that happens, like, something might be on my counter, or dresser, and it will just fall off, my husband, and I have experianced someone in our kitchen while we were in the dining room, we heard someone like they were looking through the items on our counter. I asked my husband what was that? Then all of a sudden, our punch bowl went crashing to the floor. How can a punch bowl that was push all the way up on the counter to the back just jump of the counter onto the foor. So you have to understand, there is evil things out there, just as well as good. Be careful. By the way, It is not easy getting rid of a ouija board, I tried to get rid of mine, which I did, only to end up receiving another one from someone else as a gift.

Ouija bords aren't dangerous, per se. It is possible though that a spirit or malign entity will stick around afterwards and you need to have someone there who knows how to talk to them in order to get rid of them.

Often though, using an ouija is just a bit of harmless fun that you use to mess with your mates.

Some people believe ouija boards have special supernatural powers. I for one do not believe in these, but some might. And who am I to say they are not real. Anyway, if you want to buy it for the 11 year old, go ahead. If not, don't. It's your choice.

Its not dangerous per'se but its not for those not knowing what they are doing either. An 11 year old girl that is serious about it could be a bad thing but not neccessarily. Its not a game though. It dates back much futher than the Parker Bros version.

it's not a game. its when you call a spirit to answer a question, and the ouija board does not move because of the person whose hands are on it. creepy.

I am a skeptic of such things. Why do we need our hands to move the board? Why not have the board move on its own if its real?
