Well, I hate to say this but YOU NEED A ROUTER.
You said you had a "eusso 10M ethernet hub" that will not work! You have to have a "ROUTER" ,

Hubs and Switches are just connector devices, they do not have DHCP servers in them nor the ability to route signals.

SO get a router and you can do what you are attempting! It is very common for people to think hubs are routers, they are not they are totally different devices even though they look similar.

1)check the physical connectivity.see if the wires are well connected. If you are using a wireless hub, make sure that your computer detects the signal.

2) go to command prompt. Start -> run ->type in cmd

the command prompt pops up
type in ipconfig

what error message or reply do u get ?

please copy paste that..
or u can buzz me @ chan_sidharth..would be easier for me to fix it.

check if you ve enabled your DHCP.

start->control panel-> network connections

choose any one of the lan connections, right click on it, then properties
select tcp/ip from the list under the general tab and then click on properties

In the Internet Protocol properties dialog box

make sure "Obtain an Ip address automatically" has been checked

well..try the following set of commands on the command prompt..

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

(notice the blank space between ipconfig and / )

you should now obtain IP address automatically..if not let me know..

also tell me what you got after typing those commands

sorry for being rude...i ve gotta go out..am already too late..would ve been easier, had u come up on messenger.. good luck anyway!

u ve gotta do it statically...post a question about it..buh bye
