The field conditions should be the responsibility of the home team. Just as if a team decided to not shovel off 2 feet of snow, a drainage system is the home team's responsibility. Because the field was a mess and could have led to many preventable injuries, should the league or the refs called the game and given the win to the Dolphins?

Would be post-poned but no both teams had to play in the same conditions

you can't blame a team for rain, the Steelers can't control the weather, so how could they be blamed for it. besides the Steelers had to deal with the very same weather as the Dolphins, and its the NFL that makes the call if the field is good enough to play on

I don't want to see the Dolphins go 0-16 either, but lets face it you can't force a team to forfeit due to weather (it was the weather that caused the field to get that bad not the grounds crew), and if the field was better Miami would have just been beat up by the Steelers

Come on! I know you might not like this answer, but seriously, why should we have to forfeit the game!! If there was a hurricane in Miami, should Miami have to forfeit their whole seanson? NO!! Look at New Orleans, they're fine!!! Just because the field condition was bad doesnt mean its our fault. It probably just should have been a warning, that's all! If an injury happens, that would be the players' fault for not playing conservatively.

Football wasn't meant to be played indoors. If the weather turns bad, oh well! A few years ago, the Steelers played the Dolphins in Miami in a basic hurricane. The field was ankle deep in water thru out the whole game & no one complained. What's different now? (Steelers won that one, too)

Football is meant to be played in the mud, rain, sleet and snow!!!! If a pansie team can't play in the bad weather (see Colts postseason history) they deserve to lose. I wanted the Steelers to lose....but both teams had to play in the same slop!

I think all postseason games including the SB should be played in the open, up north....so only the Best and Toughest teams can win! Domes are for sissies! ( with the possible exception of ones like Arizona......subjecting the players and fans to potentially lethal heatstroke is bad.)

Both teams had to play on the same crappy field - how was either team at a disadvantage compared to the other?

On the other hand, doing this might actually give Miami a win this year - probably the only win they'd get too!

THAT WAS FUN!!! Lets do it again. I wish that crap would all the time. It gave the Dolphins what they needed to win a ..level playing field. They still couldn't win. I thought it was actually a great game.

Of course not....
In baseball when it rains too much the postpone the game. If the conditions were not optimal for the game, it should have been suspended.

So no pal. If Miami is going to win a game this season, they are going to have to earn it.....Nobody is going to give anything.

My God, what a bunch of pansies we are becoming as a nation.

That was a good, old-fashioned football game. Not fun for the players, or fans in attendance, but it's good to see every now and then, instead of games played indoors.

Yeah right, Not that would have been justifyable if that happened, the Patriots would have been forced to forefit all their games, everyones they actually did cheat, the Patriots should be 0-16!
