They have been doing not as well as they have in the past and is there anyway they can make a comeback?

I want to say yes, and for a few reasons. First off, I feel that maybe it was time for a new manager and Joe is a good guy who if im correct the only manager to be fired after getting manager of the year...

I like what the team is doing, re-signing posada is a plus, it looks like they are keeping arod. No big position player is leaving.

Giambi,Cano,Jeter,Arod,Posada,Melky,Damon,Abreu, matsui etc anyway you see it its going to be a very good lineup
those 9 alll are quality starters

I like the bench a little more the nlast year - shelly ducan steped up and was clutch playing all of postions minus cf and 1b and showed much promise, him and betemit are 2 quality utl guys (count in melky as well if hes on the bench - hope not)

I think the biggest thing is the added pitching depth - dont get santana - Chaberlan, hugues are major league ready... Not hot on Kennedy, but thats fine.

Relief help is plenty this offseaon, yankees get 1-2 more guys to shore up the bullpen would be huge (mariano rivera hopefully comes back)

However, I feel like this is a emphasis on young talent... the team is very solid on offense, and I think the young pitching is going in the right direction - if they can shore up the bullpen, They will make a world series push once again

They'll do the same. Guys like A-Rod & Posada had great years last year because they were contract years and will settle back down in 08. The pitching is BAAAD! The 3 prospects they want to put in the rotation are mediocre at best. All you brainwashed Yankee fans who say "they are ready to bust out" are total homers who have no real grasp on baseball or reality.
Sanatana would certainly help but thats only if the RED SOX let him get away and in reality they have way more tradeable parts and a much deeper farm system to pull from.
The TWINS are not in the market of helping the Yankees so if the trade to NY happens it will be at a HUGEcosts to the Yankees starting line up next year.

Better than what? They make the playoffs every year, have the best market share for TV time and the continuing saga of the Rocket. What more could you want? :o)

It's hard to tell - a lot depends on ARod and the team chemistry without Torre. I think he did a lot to get many individuals to buy into the team concept.

i dont see anything that the yanks have done to make anyone think they will be better, they are the same team the failed to live up to expectations last year, only now they dont have that great manager to help light a fire under their butts or to shield them from media and management glare
no theyll probably do worse, as in NOT make the playoffs

Well, they have made the playoffs for the past 10 years.

If they manage to get Santana that will be a big plus for them.
