I had a burger at a place that specializes in steaks, I believe the restaurant was called Hereford & Hops. There were no burgers on the menu, but I asked for one because I prefer ground meat. They actually ground fresh steak into a burger for me. It was the best burger I have ever had, nothing but a hamburger with steak sauce. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

It is called THE SPOT and you drive up and park and a girl comes out and takes your order just like the old days. You can eat there and they put a tray on your window like the old days or you can get it to go. It is famous in this town and has been open since the early 40's. Best hamburger you ever had!! And they stay open all year round. They used to put a large Christmas tree on top of the building every year with lights on it but they have not done that the last two years. Maybe they are going green!

I never, ever go to fast food places (McD's, Burger king, Wendy, KFC, etc.). When my kids were teenagers in the 70's, they had friends who worked in these places. I used to hear them all yak about what they did to the food..... Cured me!!! I can't imagine teeners today are any smarter or more responsible.....
My favorite burger is from a Stewart Root Beer Drive-in about 12 miles from me. They are only open during the summer - from about Easter until end of September.
They make the patties fresh, with ground chuck-and all burgers are made to order. I like cheese, raw onion, lettuce, tomato, sour pickle, a little mayo, a little mustard and I'll add my ketchup.
Also LOVE the icy cold Root Beer in those cold, frozen, icy mugs......Yum!

It is called the Park Diner in St. Cloud and it looks like an old travel trailer and all the burgers have names like 64 studebaker and 57 chevy. Good and real burgers. I get the 57 and it has lettuce ,onion .tomato.

In-N-Out! They have an awesome menu of hamburgers, cheeseburgers, double-doubles(double cheese, double meat), and shakes, and drinks! They even have a secret menu on their website http://www.in-n-out.com/secretmenu.asp
If you don't live in California, Arizona, or Nevada, sorry to dissapoint you, but those are the only places that In-N-Out are around.

Paces Dairy Ann. It's a small mom and pop place that's been here for ages. Just a simple cheeseburger with everything but the onions. They have a great rainbow too.... that is a slush with soft serve ice cream. The cherry is my favorite.

Can't know Perkins. Here in Northern California Nation's Burgers is the cat's meow. (And they're open until 3 am) You have to specify exactly how you want it, or they'll smear it up with mayonnaise. They have the most excellent pies and good coffee. Happy eating.

By far - HOME! But if pressed I guess for fast food I prefer Burger King or Wendy's--for chain restaurants, Ruby Tuesday's - HATE McD's!
