I am an ex felon and looking to rent an apartment for myself and two sons. I would like to find a list (if any) of landlords or complexes in St Paul Minnesota that will rent to me. Anyone know of a site or such listings?

That is going to be a short list!

Ask your parole officer.

Are you a felon because you murdered your ex-property manager? If so, stop reading now.

To my knowledge, there is NO place that advertises that they rent to ex-felons. Seeing as how felons are not a protected class, they can be freely discriminated against. That being said:

I have rented to felons before. Why? Because they had a good job and were making enough money and didn't have a big debt load and looked like the might be a responsible tenant. They told me about their past and I checked with the owner to see if it was OK.

All I really care about are two things. (1) Will you pay the rent on time? (2) Are you going to take care of the place? That's all most owners care about, too.

I think if you're up front about it, you will find people who will be frightened and say 'no,' and there will be people who will look at the facts and make a decision based on facts instead of emotion.

Good luck.

I have been in multiple states and I don't ever remember running across an apartment application that required knowing if you were a felon. Most of the time a landlord will run a credit check, but not a background check, unless the place is really expensive and nice. Your a great friend to allow him to stay with you if you have a house. One suggestion is to help him out a little by going to some different place and getting applications and asking if they charge for a credit/background check. They'll never know it is for him.

I have seen apartment lists which advertise that they take pets, but have NEVER seen one which advertises that they take felons.

In other words, start looking on your own. You're not going to find the list you seek.
