aww my daughter is only a year a half and wow i want to buy her everything now but i just thought the other day well if i buy it all now what will i buy her when she is 3 and 4.
back to your question i wouldn't spend too much (maybe save half of whatever you were going to spend for when she gets to electonics).
If she has her own room and space is not a problem how about a kitchen. They have some really cute ones this year.
If your limited on space how about a doll with accessories. At sams club they have a cute set for the baby which includes stroller, playpen, high chair and diaper bag it is so cute.
Good luck and have a nice Christmas.

Well, as an Early Childhood teacher, I would say get her ready for school with educational toys that don't seem educational. They don't have to be expensive like Leap Frog or anything, just manipulatives that allow her to explore and practice colors, numbers, alphabets, using her imagination, gross and fine motor skills (like tying laces, zipping, buttoning, balancing), etc. A teacher at a preschool I worked at gets a ton of stuff from Oriental Trading Company (the name is a little off-putting, I know). They have lots of good stuff under the Teacher Supplies section, if you don't mind buying stuff online. They also have a paper catalog, but I'm not sure if just anyone can get it; so definitely check out the website.
Other than that, take a "field trip" to a toy store, or look through a catalogue or sales paper and ask her something like, "what do you think would be the most fun to play with?"; and pay attention to any regular commercial toys she may look at. And with things being so expensive, I would say don't spend more that $200, but even that is a bit much.

Spend, not much. Lots of little presents at this age they destroy toys so quickly, and it's quantity that excites them, maybe one good present, and the rest little stuff. Dolls, Clothes for the doll. I usually open the packaging and make it easy to get the gift out before I wrap, these days everything is in so well sometimes you actually need tools to get them out, this way the child can play with it immediately, no waiting because you know how patient a little one is. If she's into clothes, then buy her an outfit or two, wrap each piece separate. Above all, sit back and get your camera ready, this is the age when Christmas begins me mean something, they are not so oblivious.

My three year old is expensive and she pretty much tells you what you want i just have to narrow it down to what is age appropriate for her anp what i will tolerate. I already got her a game boy advanced its used since she is 3 she wont notice or even care so that was 25 dollars and a couple of games for it like strawberry shortcake the disney princesses and those are used to so under 40 for all of it. She loves games all of a sudden so she will love it and she is getting skates and a bunch of dollar store stocking stuffers so probably around 60 for everthing

Buy her a theme gift, like the Cinderella movie, the dress so she can dress up and maybe a little stuffed toy from the movie, like one of the mice. It will probably run you like $50 but she will love it and feel like a princess!

You could do any of the princess movies, or tinker bell and get Peter Pan or do Barbie.

lets see, If I was three again I would do something cute... since its a girl, If you let her play on computers you could set her up a webkinz account for you to play with her. Stuffed toys and such, Leapster games, Coloring books, If she is a girly girl you can get her Disney princess stuff, my friend's little sister is 4 and loves the disney store. a baby doll.. maybe a cute pillow for her bed, fluffy pajamas... hope that helps.. and try this website, you can choose her personality and age and it gives good ideas.

depends on who the child is. family or close friend i spend a bit more but, i don't usually go over about $50 unless it's a large item. little ones get bombarded at holidays. so much so that they don't know what to do with it all.
