With good news coming out of Iraq, why can't liberals celebrate it instead of trying to discredit it?

The answer, and I think you know it anyway, is simple:
During a war, most dissention stops because if anyone makes an anti-present government remark THEY are the enemy.
Normally dissention is the lifeblood of good government, one party in power and the other dutifully expressing the opposite side so that a sensible middle road is taken or that one special interest group doesn't get favored.
Everyone knows that poor intelligence plus a fierce urge to get even IGNORED the fact that Saddam did not have WMD.
That was forgiveable. What is NOT forgiveable is that ANNE COULTER and O'REILLY and the President and his friends
ARE LOATHE to admit those facts.
Some Americans actually believe that the 2000 lives that have been lost are worth it when in fact a dozen, carefully picked persons could have disposed of Hussein without any bloodshed at all.
Some Americans still don't fault Pres. Bush Sr for being a partner to Bin Laden's Saudi group in the same building just down the hall (the Saudis that were allowed to leave 5 minutes after 9/11 and fly home to pump some more oil.
It's amazing that all the Repubs do is chastize the Dems, when it was a Democratic Pres (Roosevelt) that won WWll after overruling the southern isolationists.
Republicans that I talk to can't even explain Bush's 28% popularity poll results. I never heard of any other President sink to that level and I can go back to Hoover.
Keep's one guessing, don't it?

'Concern' over increasing terrorism is just one aproach to criticising the Iraq War, which is just one front on which to attack thier rival republicans without regard for the consequences to the country.
The outting of a minor opperative did infinitesimal damage to US intelligence opperations, but was treated as treason - again, because it could be pinned on rival republicans.
The UAE is a fairly stable monarchy and nominally an ally, or at least, a nation with which we enjoy normal relations. It's not like Syria or Iran. The UAE is awash in dollars from high oil prices and is investing in everything under the sun. The UAE just bought 5% of the largest bank in the US (Citigroup), don't see the Dems denouncing or aplauding that, even though it's not particularly different from the port deal. Except, of course, for one thing: It wasn't a deal championed by an prominent republiclans.
Bush? No chance to bash Bush will be passed up. Respect for the Office and consequences to the nation be damned. If Bush were giving the Saudi's the cold shoulder, Dems would be all over for 'alienating a valuable ally in the war on terror' and letting the terrorists 'win' - because those 14 hijackers were obviously picked to drive a wedge between the US and Saudis.
So, yeah, all those reactions are due to hating Republicans, not caring about America. Of course, the Reps aren't any different. They don't care about America anymore than the Dems do. Both parties are concerned only with ruling the nation. If they wanted what was best for America, the leadership of both parties would simply commit suicide. Nothing would be better for America than that.

I'll answer you.
1. Do you really think that by ignoring terrorism it would go away? What actions on our part caused 911? Do you always blame America first?
2. Who is distracted by Afghanistan? Do you know that because of our actions WOMAN can go to school in Afghanistan now? I thought the left was FOR woman's rights? Or is that only in our country? Did you know that they held FREE elections?
3. Brewester Jennings and the so called destruction of CIA operations? What operation? Don't you get tired of the fabricated conspiracy theories? You watch WAY too much TV. WMD's He had them...what do you think he used on the Kurds? Kool Aid? Get real.
4. I agree we should not even thinking of selling our Ports...by-the-way that was not a Bush proposal.
5. Bush's extremely close relationship with the Saudis...what relationship? Another of the left whacked conspiracy theories? You people on the left are beyond the left. That is why your party is SO splintered. All doom and gloom. America bad...world good. Blame Bush for everything. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR COUNTRY OTHER THAN *****???? Bet you never served in the military, or volunteered for some worthy community project...always on the sideline slinging mud! Now have a nice day!

OK, lets address them one at a time;
Increased terrorism from the invasion of Iraq, I beg your pardon, they are muslims and so, rabid dogs. They would be terrorists anyway. When they go to Iraq, they are killed by our troops. Al Qaeda is stuck in Iraq.
Distraction from Afghanistan; the Taliban ran off to Pakistan, they will get theirs. There's no distraction from Afghanistan.
There is still a war going on there.
Valerie Plame, and Robert Novak, OMG, that is a mess. I agree that the little troll should have kept his mouth shut but,
Valerie was outed by her husband Joe Wilson according to
Bob Woodward, on several occasions.
The port deal was not an issue, Port Security still runs the security. It was no more a danger for Dubai to own it than anyone else.
President Bush is not the leader of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia's government opposes Al Qaeda as much as we do.
Maybe more.

I do not believe Democrats hate America, or want the worst to happen, that is when a Democrat is in office. They were very happy with America for the 8 years Clinton was in office, it's when a Republican takes office that they root for ill and see the end of America as they know it. You speak of concern, where was this concern during the rise of Bin Laden during the the Clinton administration from the Democrats. Had Clinton taken the attack on the Cole as a declaration of war, which is was then we would have engaged Bin Laden in Afghanistan and 9-11 would never have happen.

Actually, Liberals are trying to save what is left of our freedoms, the tattered remains of what was once a proud reality. Each atrocity committed by Bush and Cheney is noted by Liberals who have found their voice and are no longer silenced by the intimidation practiced by the members of the Far Right.
Destruction has come closer to reality in this Administration far more than in any other, with a loss of personal freedom, a complete lack of morality, and an aggressive, expensive, utterly needless War in Iraq. While the Taliban and Al Queda have control of more than half of Afghanistan, this man we have in office worries about his palatial Embassy in Baghdad and his plans to take on yet another war with Iran.
How much more damage can he inflict in just over a year? A great deal, and this is why we must participate, as Americans, to insist upon border security, some attention paid to domestic issues, and a halt to torture. It will never happen while Bush is in office, but perhaps he can be kept busy enough to keep him from bombing Tehran. We are indebted now. Another war will bankrupt our country.

There are people out there who are totally unaware of the points you have made because the right wing media they follow have never spoken about them. Even though I vote Democratic I keep myself informed by listening to liberal and conservative media outlets and there are stories that are only reported by oneside of the political spectrum that are ignored by the other side because those stories are too inconvenient to try and analyze for their listeners
