Performance difference would only be noticeable in benchmarks and not much on applications.

BUT consider the X2 5000+ Black Edition. It easily overclocks to X2 6000+ level but at lower wattage. That means powerful but cooler running.

X2 5000+ supports ddr2-800

It is usually the older motherboards that do not support higher RAM speed.

the two are twin center processors, the sole distinction you're buying is the greater .1ghz between the two processors. The 4400+ is a reasonably greater moderen technologies processor vs the 4200+, as AMD slowly releases new processors they strengthen the variety series, an occasion being the latest released processor is the Athlon sixty 4 X2 6000+ that's a twin center 3ghz processor using the AM2 socket. whilst given a special selection like this, frequently going with the greater moderen launch is the excellent selection, so i could say the 4400+.
