Not to most Christians. It is merely something that many people put up together as a family and decorate in celebration of the Christmas season, as long as it doesn't go against their religious beliefs. I think trees are beautiful, whether they are decorated or not.

No! opinions vary but the way I understand it is as follows:

In the old pre-christian religion there was a holiday at the peak of the winter solstice called Yule.
A log would be cut, and brought indoors, decorated an covered in different herbs, scents and oils the burned on the peak of winter solstice thus: a "Yule log" on the fire.

The bible has no record of Jesus's exact birthday that I know of. I believe Christians adopted the old pagan holiday as their own to try to convert people,, and the tradition of the log eventually evolved into the tree.

Since the pagans did not believe in the devil (he is a christian invention) and Christians are not evil,,,,,,

There is nothing evil or wrong with a Christmas Tree whatever you believe.

Evil???Ha! I really dont know why we put a tree in our house, but look at it this way. Lets say we had a christmass moose instead. You would still put it in a stand and cover it with lights and decorations just like a tree. Now would you consider that moose evil? Also the christmass tree is so nice looking and it gives us oxygen. Sounds pretty nice too me.

Evil, no, but it was originally a pagan symbol. The early church incorporated many pagan symbols in order to help in converting the pagans to Christianity. But like many of these symbols it has been thoroughly adapted to Christianity.
