my mom had the letters S A N T A on the table at night..
when she woke up and went down stairs it spelled S A T A N
as in satin.. should we be scared

No because like you said "as in satin" Satin is a cloth that typically has a glossy surface and a dull back.
However if it said satan like the devil then yes a bit disturbing
