I am working and was trying to save up to purchase a car. Would I first have to have a licensed driver to put the car title name in or what? how does this work??

I`m not sure about your state laws. But you can buy a car at the age of 16 or even 15 and have the car in your name. You can not drive the car without insurance nor without a drivers lic. So you can own a car that will sit. until you get the above mentioned. (lic. ins.) You could not get a loan on this car until you reach the age of 18.

You need to be 18 y/o & have a valid driver's license in order to buy a car.

i live in illinois and bought my car at the age of 17...they didn't even ask to see my license...u doubt u need a license to even own a car...depends on ur state laws

Yes you need to be licensed to register the car in your name.

This applies to all states; You have to be 18 to actually own a car. That means, mom or dad will be on the title. As soon as your 18, they sign it over to you. No law says you can't pay for it.
