Ok, I want to help a girl, we'll call her Betty, and I need to message someone else, we'll call them Joe, so I can help Betty. But Joe is away so I can't message him. What can I do to get communication with Joe faster?

If Joe has posted a bulletin, send a reply to the bulletin, only delete all the text and change the subject. This is a good way of sending a message to get round the away status problem.
You could also post a comment, although this would be visible to everyone.
