I'm looking for a pattern for a knitted lapghan. I've searched online and I'm finding a lot of crocheting patterns...but not knitting.

A lapghan is pretty versitile. You can choose just about any stitch pattern and make it up the size you want your blanket to be.

Don't forget to look at baby blankets, use 4 ply yarn instead of baby yarn and different colors. You choices there will be amazing.

I like browsing through stitch dictionaries -- when you find a look you like, add a seed or garter stitch border, and voila! Washcloths, baby blankets, or afghans... just know your gauge and cast on the appropriate multiple.
