no chance.
no one in the field stands a chance.
next year will be time for the republicans to wonder where it all went wrong.
do you want to know who should be dominating the republican field RIGHT NOW?
a guy named bill weld - who used to be gov of massachusetts.
he's tough fair and not crazy.
where is bill weld?
a few years back he got into a fight with jesse helms over if he could be (of all things) ambassador to mexico. jesse said 'bring it on' - thereby maneuvering weld out of the picture - permanently.
some viewed this little tiff as a fight over the future of the republican party - psst - the wrong side won.
the republicans need to look back over the decisions they made over a decade ago to see where it all went wrong.
instead of a solid guy like weld, the republicans will have tough choices to make:
do they:
* chose the guy who used to be a lobbyist for planned parenthood.
* how about the former govt of massachusetts - the bluest state of them all - who said he would do more for gay rights than teddy kennedy - who also happens to be a mormon (can't help but wonder what the residents of south carolina will think of that).
* the mayor of one of america's most liberal cities - one who has gone on record more than once as in favor of abortion rights and gun control. a guy who, by the way, has been married three times - once to his own cousin.
* then there's john mccain - the man who won't be president ever - it's destiny.
* how about ron paul? because he's more hated by his own insane (and short sighted) party than anyone else.
the dems are just friggin terrible - too bad that the alternative is all but unthinkable in most american's minds.
the way things stand, bill richardson would win over any of them - let alone hillary, obama or edwards.
the bought and paid for pundits can spew all they want - nothing in the world is going to win the next election for the republicans, who really should be thinking about long term survival at this stage in the game...

Ron Paul is the only one that can draw enough voters from All parties to win,
the republicans have so alienated the Hispanics that usually vote at a 40 - 50 % rate for republicans, that they will be lucky to be able to count on a 20% vote from them. it needs to be picked up some where eles and none of the other canidates can draw enough new voters like ron paul will.
these are the numbers and there is no way to dispute it, time to face facts
republicans its up to you Ron Paul or a demacrat

All of them. Remember that the democrat-led Congress has had a lower approval rating than President Bush since about two months in.

In general, the Republicans have no one to blame but themselves. They have spent most of the past 7 years alienating everyone who isn't from their party. The views and opinions of liberals have been totally squashed and made irrelevant.
As a liberal (though not a democrat), the only Republican candidate I would consider at this point is John McCain. While I don't always agree with his politics, I like the fact he is willing to strike compromise rather than engage in deadlock.
Our country is headed for a major political crisis if our politicians continue to play the "my way or no way" game of politics. We are a country of over 300 million people and it will be next to impossible to ever have more than about 50% support for most issues. With that in mind, our elected representatives should be looking at solutions that address the various problems - even if it means compromising on a less than ideal piece of legislation.

When you say "60,000,000 new instant Americans", I'm not sure who you are referring to. Estimates of illegals are only in the 20 million range (sigh...I typed that like it's a small number).
Any Republican can beat Shrillary...don't sweat it, the country hasn't lost it's mind yet.

The only one who can take Dem votes is Dr. Ron Paul. His ant-war stance will take a lot of votes from the Democrats if they put up Hillary or Obama.

Huckabee, Romney, McCain. Gee's people said the same in 04, but when Dems put out poor candidates (qualitywise, not moneywise), they basically hand the election to the Republicans.

I beleive tax paying americans will make the right choice , all the people that were worried about , ( illegals , lazy people who dont work ) dont vote , the people that pay for there sorry butts to live here do vote . Taxes suck big time , but I understand that they are neccesary . But not for criminals and illegals , thats what Dems dont understand , probably cuz there all millionaires .
