Three ports, three hoses. But where do the other end of the hoses go?

Thanks for that. But then how does gas get into the carb if none of the hoses attach to anything? Where do I put the hose that comes off my fuel tank?

Look - the manual isn't any help with the hose attachments. Had a fellow look at it when I first bought this and he broke some of the brittle hoses and didn't say a word. 2 had one way valves on them. The one on the bottom I understand. The two on the top I don't. I should place the fuel line to any one of them (I think the farthest out to me) and let the other one just 'hang'? Yamaha YFM200 1985

I do have a Chilton's manual.

Wish a woman would answer this. You do realize it was a man who broke the lines off in the first place? Small engine repair man gave up on it too.

Or I should have created a profile as a man and posted the question.

By the by. Yamaha doesn't cover this model any longer. You can check their website on that one.

hay , quit messing around and go to your Yamaha dealer and get a YAMAHA SERVICE MANUEL for your model and year.
please don't tell me that it does not cover the Fuel System!
another thing do not ride it with any fuel problems!! anyway good luck;) O.K. the petcock has 2 hoses 1 is smaller, it is the vacume hose that opens the the diaphragm that allows fuel to drain into the carb. the other is the fuel supply it is larger and it connects directly to carb body. whereas the vacuum hose is connected to the intake manifold, then you will have 2 body vent hoses (higher then the float bowl) and 1 overflow located on the bottom of the carb. anyway get yourself a shop Manuel

I think most of the Moto 4 carbs only had two lines. The fuel line is the larger of the two - it's the only one that'll be big enough to fit over the petcock spigot.

The other hose is a very small diameter, and is the vent hose that guardrailjim mentioned.

The shop manual will cover carb installation and hose routing - but they consider it a relatively basic procedure, so you're not going to find step by step photos of the process. Sometimes you'll only read one sentece that says 'attach the fuel line to the carburetor inlet tube. Attach the vent line to the carburetor vacuum tube.'

Don't know what you mean by saying yamaha doesn't cover this model any longer - they won't have every part for it - but they do have most of what you need, and they definitely still have the microfiche and shop manual available - go here to see the microfiche http://www.yamahaoftroy.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?category=ATVs&make=Yamaha&year=1985&fveh=104
These exploded diagrams can help somewhat in determining what goes where.

A WOMAN DID ANSWER THIS QUESTION. I'm female. Don't know what that has to do with anything though.

The one on the very bottom is routed behind the engine and down to the ground.
It doesn't attach to anything, it just hangs there.
It's the over flow for the float bowl.
If the carb overfills with gas, it drips onto the ground instead of a hot engine.
The other hoses are just vents.
They don't attach to anything either, they just hang there.
