The first thing I would look into is the fuse for the dryer. It is a 220 volt receptacle, and more than likely has a dedicated circuit. The next thing I would check is to see if you have power going to the motor and the heating element. Take the cover off of the back at the top and check the wires. If you have a volt meter you can check the voltage on the wires connecting to it. There will be either 3 - 5 wires. Usually you have a black and a white. Those two will have the voltage on them. Trace the wires to your motor, and to your heating element. See if you have voltage there as well. The motor should have a certain watage written on it. I do not know what your dryer is doing wrong, you weren't very descriptive, but I hope this helps.

There are several things that can cause a dryer to suddenly not run. First and most frequently found is the loading door not being completely closed. There's a micro switch that is activated by the door opening and closing. Door open, no run. Depending on the make, there is sometimes a small tab that hangs down in the top area of the door recess and it occasionally breaks off, thereby not letting the door activate the switch when it's closed. If it's a push button then that's normally not the problem, although I've seen one of the wires on the back of the switch fall off from having the door slammed one too many times. Then there's the internal thermal fuses. If for some reason the thermostat's don't do their job properly, in many models there is a one time thermal fuse that will blow and keep the unit from running. The back normally must be removed to check these with a volt/ohm meter. Then there are the electrical box fuses or breakers, whichever you have.. Check them to be sure they're good. If none of these things helps then you'll need to call a repair man.
