my computer is windows xp proffensinal version 2002, currently i got a Nvdia Vanta/Vanta LT and want to kno if my computer has an oepn AGp slot to place my new card in. a lot of pepople say it can but i wanna be more sure....

Your Nvidia Vanta LT is a 2X AGP card. It uses 3.3V signaling.

FX5200 is 8x AGP that uses lower signaling voltage. Card may have a different notch and may not fit your current AGP slot UNLESS slot is the universal type that accepts both 2xAGP and 4x/8x AGP cards.

it will work with XP, that's not really the issue...
is the FX5200 card AGP?
does your motherboard have an Empty AGP slot?
if yes then it should work.
you will have to remove the old graphics card.
make shure to download drivers from Nvidia's website.

got a picture of your motherboard ? and the graphics card ? can't tell for sure unless i see it though if it says it has AGP (you'll notice that the slot that slides into the socket looks something like this)
