I'm personally fond of pouch slings. They are comfortable to wear and the baby can be in a variety of positions (facing out/facing in/cradle/hip/back/nursing). They do not have the excess fabric or learning curve of other wraps/slings.
I first bought a hotsling... which was great until my daughter outgrew it at 6 weeks old!
I now have an adjustable fleece pouch from KangarooKorner. This will grow with my baby until she's a toddler, and she absolutely loves it.
There's another pouch that I love called Pea-in-a-Pod. I think this product is even more well-thought-out. It is made by a stay at home mom and sales go to help pay for her child's cancer treatments. However, because of what she is going through, she does not always have ample stocks of her product. KangarooKorner was the most similar pouch I could find.
Good luck with your decision.

Our daughter hated being in a sling as an infant. She loves sitting upright to look around. I use a Pea Pod Creations Cuddly Wrap (they make organic wraps) for stuff around the house. It is really long and it is hard to wrap without having it touch the ground! When we are on the go we use a Baby Bjorn Active carrier - we have gone on 5 Mountain hikes with this - one was over 10 km! Mom and baby are both very comfortable with both of these carriers. We are going to try the Hot Sling again now that she is almost 9 months.

Ergo Baby Carrier

Very comfortable, distributes weight on your hips and shoulders. Can wear on front, back and hip. Clips on and is easily adjustable for different wearers. (I am 5'3" and my husband is 6'3" and it's fine for both of us.). Good until 40 lbs, so will last all of your baby carrying years. They do have an organic option.
I have a Little Star baby sling. It's like a hot sling. I could never get comfortable in it. It put too much pressure on my shoulder. It was a gift and I found out after the fact that it was too big for me by a size or two. Apparently with this type of sling it's very important to get the right size. If it's not comfortable, you won't use it.
Best of luck!

It depends. You want one that is comfortable for YOU, and easy enough that you'll actually use it. I think I tried 5 different slings before I found one I really liked (the Didymos Wrap). You just need to try out a few and see what will work best for you. The link below has lots of great information.

I love my Hotsling and my Moby Wrap. You can get both in organic fabric if that is a concern for you. Bjorns are OK, we have one of those too, but found that the sling was a lot easier to get in and out of, easy to fold up and fit in a bag--not to mention cuter. The Moby I love for weight distribution and for all the flexible ways you can wrap a baby.
If you are a sewer, you can make your own sling.

I have a:
New native baby- www.newnativebaby.com
I loved this sling.
A hotsling:
www.hotslings.com
Very comfy
A Maya wrap- couldn't get it comfy to save my life despite the videos to help.
www.mayawrap.com
and a babyhawk Mei Tei- love this!
www.babyhawk.com
I found the slings to be much easier when they were little. Slip them in and go.
New native baby and Maya wraps have an organtic section. I am not sure about the rest as I haven't checked them out.
Good luck in your search!

Rain equipment for them to boot and an umbrella. we've a stroller even if it isn't used. we were stuck in undesirable climate and used the above and it truly works wonders. Having your toddler bundled up and on the point of you keeps them warmth contained in the sling to boot. solid success! I also placed the toddler below my coat. My mom changed into horrified- yet she changed into comfy and comfortable and warmth and not in any respect peeped. At 5 months, she'd peek out to ensure what changed into happening and then tuck decrease back in- it changed into too lovable! Slush and strollers do not mix!

There's a website: kangaroocorner.com They sell and rate all different types. It's a home owned business, so I like to promote them whenever I can. Good luck!
