You're possibly confusing it with a similar movie, entitled Holiday Inn, no less. I can't recall if the song White Christmas appeared in that particular movie, but believe it might have been.

The film entitled White Christmas dates several years after the first and takes place in a supposed Vermont lodge, which is unnamed.

IMDB just says it was filmed in the studio.

ETA: Wikipedia mentions two inconsistencies in the finale. The first one seems to indicate filming in a studio with fake snow to me.

"In the finale, a horse-drawn sleigh is shown approaching the inn as it snows outside. Given that it had not been snowing for very long, it is somewhat difficult to believe that a horse-drawn sleigh could have navigated the freshly-fallen snow successfully. (However, it does add to the intended Currier and Ives image for the final scene of the film.)

* In the finale, there is a scene shot from the right side that clearly shows the center "ballerina in white" with a beautiful smile on her face. An instant later — in a shot that is supposed to be seamless as it shifts to frontal view — she is serious and grave-looking."

The song "White Christmas" won an Oscar in the movie "Holiday Inn" (1942). It was filmed at the Holiday Inn, Monte Rio, California and in Sonoma County, California.
