Ignorance is bliss in the shorter run of life however if you want to get bliss in the longer run of life, then you just need to face your problems and figure out the best solution as soon as possible. Being ignorant of something is not an excuse for not doing it. Therefore, the best way is to face the problem, decide upon the best solution and implement it. Even though it might be hard at first, it will surely be beneficial in the long run.

No, just think of all the wonderful things you would miss if you could not read. Being ignorant means you don't know the difference between good and bad, if someone is your friend or not. Besides how do you know you are happy if you have never been sad. No ignorance is not bliss.
