I know Patterson and Koontz, and like them both... Patterson for his early books about Alex Cross, and Koontz for many books; I believe I like his writing style the most.

I also liked reading "The Bourne Identity," though that was the only one I should have read since I thought the writing could be better...

I've been recommending a thriller called "The Traveler" by John Twelve Hawks for a while now-- I still read that book over again. Very fast-paced, on the edge of your seat stuff...

Walter Mosley has written a great mystery series around the character of Easy Rawlins... they start with "Devil in a Blue Dress" and there are quite a few, but then again not quite enough, for Mosley's talent as a writer was good to begin with and only improves. I have all the books.

Mosley also wrote a couple of books about an ex-con named Socrates, a man of incredible strength, depth of feeling, and yet with the presentation of an ex-con; they are good, too.

Hope you find something you like in all the anwers you'll get...
