I would agree with 75% or so of that - especially the stealth taxes... on NORMAL people other than the rich. The Labour party have lost their liberal roots and now have become another right-wing Tory party.

All we need is a political system which is not CORRUPT... then we will do better as a country.

Labour = Evident form what you said that it has failed us.
Tory = Right wing... and has more interest for the rich than the poor. Look at Margerat Thatcher and the choas she caused.
Libdem = They have constructed a logical campaign which i support. =]

Taxes are necessary in a civil setting. Why complain? Do you complain about the paved streets you use? The sanitary water and sewer systems? Protection by police? The list goes on and it takes taxes to fund these services.
Talk to God about the weather.
Don't patronize shops with awful service. If enough patrons stay away, things change.
If you are unhappy with the transport system, get a bicycle (and an umbrella for the bad weather).
Identification can be your friend. If you use a credit card, you might feel better knowing the clerk asked for ID to be sure the card belonged to you.
Getting a passport isn't like paying a toll to cross a bridge. It is putting your name and ID into a system to assure you have the proper papers (in a computer) to go where you want to go.
Alcohol tobacco and petrol should be used sparingly if at all.
Find the bank that charges lowest or no fees for checking and pays better interest rates for saving.
UK should have joined the Euro, in my opinion.
Don't fly. Take the train.
The police. Can't do without them. It's the same all over.
Political. Corruption. Synonyms.
America saved the UKs' *** in WWII.
Gordon Brown should have set an election date. His feet should be held to the fire for not doing so.
Benefits are helpful. Don't be too critical. As much as you doubt it, you might need the help one day too.
I doubt if Green stealth or overt taxes are going to hurt anyone too much.

Yes, but you shouldn't grumble. A few months ago I was talking to Dimitri outside the post office, before they closed it down, who said that things could be a lot worse. We could have blatant corruption in exchange for political funding, we could have an incompetent government that lost private data, there might be an end to the global economic boom. Don't be silly I said, this isn't just Britain, this is new Britain, cool Brittania! Things can only get better.

Correction: They complain -- about other countries.
Maybe they're just spending too much precious time demonizing others instead of taking care of their own business.
