i just saw that on t.v. but i think i heard wrong... can somebody please tell me

You must have heard wrong.

Alright, biologists classify all living things into different categories, becoming more and more specific. They are Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus and Species. With breeding, it is only possible for members of the same Genus to reproduce. Birds and cats are different phylums, so no.

No, it is not possible. In order to have offspring, the parents must be of the same species, due to the nature of DNA. If the DNA becomes mutated, a different looking offspring will occur, but will still be of the same species. Be careful of what you see on t.v., for it is not always true or even correct.
