for me its not so much a movie more of a docudrama from the BBC called threads. it's based on a developing escaltion between east-west and its effects on a couple of sheffield families. it then all kicks off and full scale nuclear war ensues, and is shown in graphic detail. cue burnt babies, cats with broken legs, and people having thier legs sawn off without anestetic. this film was so horrific the BEEB banned it the day after it was shown, and people ended up having to have councelling.

a brilliant but nasty film indeed!!!!

'Threads' is definitely the scariest thing you will ever watch - especially now that Putin is quite happy to restart the cold war. Everything else is just fantasy - though I'd go with the Asian horror movies suggested (plus Audition), Ringu was good (her moves were freaky)

28 Weeks Later. I went to see that film with some of my friends but they didn't tell me what we were going to see or what it was about until we were queued up to buy tickets. That film scared the **** out of me! I didn't sleep for about a week after that!

The Exorcist, I watched it once, years ago, and have been too scared to ever watch it again. Even thinking about it gives me the creeps.

Jaws - when I was about 9, will always remember the head dropping down in the hull of the boat.
