Fake? What do you mean? Why don't you just ask Santa in a letter to make some footprints for you? I am sure he wouldn't mind. Just send the letter to the North Pole.

That's cute! My son is still only 16 months and just starting do discover this holiday, but I plan to put Oreo's and milk out for one. Also, I was thinking of putting something outside for Santa's Reindeer to eat as well. They might get hungry on their journey. I have a feeling that I am going to really enjoy the magical time with my kids growing up and discovering Christmas.

A bag of soot and some large boots. When making a print in the carpet be sure to scatter some soot around it,the wife may not be over thrilled but blame it on the big guy.

What a cute idea! Was I totally deprived as a kid? I put the thumbs up rating on the ones I like best because I am clueless how else you would do it! Have a ball!
I hope you have snow...That will definitely make it easier, but are you gonna take your kids up on the roof to see the prints? I wouldn't advise that....
Merry Christmas!

For the past 20 plus years, i've taken on old pair of boot, dipped them into the ashes of the fireplace and leave imprints. Before we had a fireplace, I went to a neighbors and scooped out a bag of ashes, take them home and dip the boots in.
This is an age old secret passed on for generations... lol
Good luck and enjoy. The looks on the kids faces is truly worth a million words.

I'd make several pairs of boot prints out of black felt and place them throughout the house to appear like boot prints (near a fireplace if you have one), some on the roof, and maybe in the yard. Instead of using paint in your house that will never come out of your carpet. =)

I did it - borrowed a pair of size 11 work boots, poured some cheap talcum powder on a tray- pressed the boots in it - made steps from the window to where the children's presents where left then back to the window it looked good

put a pair of boots on and walk wherever you need to! maybe drop a bell or something like cookie crumbs to make it realistic. Depends on what your walking in if its snow, make sure they're big and deep like a heavy person's! Hope I helped you out!!
HO! HO! HO!
