Good means to treat people as you would want to be treated. Its simple, and generally easy.

This certainly is broad, possibly the oldest questions out there. An answer has been heavily sought after, but as you say there is no universal set of code for right and wrong. Or at least, we have found no way of showing why one code should apply to all. Is good based on utility, is there such thing as "evil", does anyone try to do bad? So many questions follow this one. I think to start, to be "good", you have to decide what good is for yourself, with as little of this coming from implementation. Everyone wants to be good, so who cares if your good matches what others consider it to be, what really matters is that it matches what you consider to be good. Of course, since this message is so open-ended, coming up with a strict code is certainly difficult, but I would argue is not necessary. You want to leave things open, to keep thinking about this topic. This doesn't prevent you being able to strive for some ideal of good, which is the purpose. Theoretical philosophy is pointless, only practical. Why is this question so fundamental to life, because good by the very nature of the word is what we should strive to be. So think about it, and apply, strive to be the best good you can be.

It's as simple as treating others exactly the way you would want them to treat you- even if "they" are not! Blessings.......

cause no one harm...do unto others, as you would have them do unto you, neither judge nor jury be, do not bare false witness, it all comes down to not causing harm to self, or any living thing.
