when you back up your computer, it takes all the settings and programs and compresses them into smaller files that can be later reconized by your computer in case of an emergency . it then finds allocated space that was reserved for the backups and stores all that information on there until further needed....

no it does not increase the performance..

you may need to clear out the spyware and no longer needed information and possibly registry keys that are no longer needed...

if your performance is slow please download "advanced windows care personal" at www.iobit.com

Backing up your computer makes no changes to the computer itself. When you back up a computer, it means you make a copy somewhere else of the files on the computer. Then should the computer die, you have a copy from which you can recover the files.

But backing up does not improve or change in any way how the computer runs.

Nope, your computer stays the exact same. Basically you leave a copy of your files in another location so that if your computer stops working you can use your "backup"(could be an additional hard disk, cd drive, flash drive whatever) to get your files back.
