Than things going on in the word that could potentially affect our lives or the lives of others?
Do you think that is a warning sign that our society is slowly deteriorating and that in the future the Societies of "Free" countries will be dictated by a small handful of wealthy. I.e. Similar to that England and France in the 1700s thru late 1800s?

I am aware that Wealthy people have more say due to their money and their ability to support political candidates. Just remember they each have one vote for each election. Just the same as the rest of us.
So how do we encourage kids to educate themselves and take control of the world around them?

People under 25 know more about EVERYTHING! Just ask them, they will tell you.

Yes! I teach computer classes, and you would not believe what some of these kids know about all the stuff that DOESN'T MEEN SQUAT!
Nobody studies, most of them do just enough to get by. It's no wonder all the other countries are doing better... we're producing slackers!

You MUST know that our society is ALREADY ruled by the wealthiest of people...you must know that a small # of wealthy people OWN the more than the entire middle class and whatever is left is owned by foreigners.
Lets all get out to vote......
