Generally I don't answer the door when I do not recognize the person out there. But if I do answer the door, be nice and don't try to sell me anything or save my soul and I'll be nice to you. Would you like to come in for a cup of tea?

I don't open the door to strangers when I'm alone. If my bf were home I would open the door slightly and politely greet you. I would also not open the door all the way because my puppy would jump on you and would expect you to play with her.
