I got a VERY good Christmas bonus. I did all my Christmas shopping for my family, took care of some things that I needed to catch up on, and put back enough to keep my head above water when my husband gets laid off next month (He always has a 3 week lay of fin January). I have 2 kids. I'm in college. I work two days a week, have classes 3 days a week, and between homework, work I bring home FROM work, being a mom, and taking care of the household stuff, it seems like I never do anything for myself. On top of that, I've been helping my father pay off my mother's funeral expense- we lost her in May and my Dad is on Social Security and needed financial help with that. So today, I took some of my Christmas bonus money and spent it on ME- things I've wanted for months but put off getting because other people needed things first- and now I feel guilty. Was it wrong of me to do this?

Good Job, Sometimes we have to reward ourselves. It seems that you have been doing just about everything for everyone...but there is an old saying. Sometimes you just have to sit back and take care of yourself....If not you surely could burn out

no as long as you didnt neglect bills or food to do it then its fine. its hard to spend on yourself when your so used to helping others like your dad or your mom. sorry bout your mother. i lost my father so i know what ur feeling. also for me i have some debt im trying to pay back so i can buy a home. i just feel so wrong when me and my husband even go out for subway. i mean its like 10 bucks and i feel like we shouldnt do this. but life takes time and sometimes you do need a treat now and then. you do deserve it...

No - you deserve it. There will always be more you could do for others, but if you don't reward yourself there's no motivation to keep doing it.
