The BCS has it right for the most part.
You also need to use spell check or a dictionary.
Look at virtually all of the polls out there. Hawaii is in 20th place based upon an average of 100 different polls using all types of criteria in their rankings.
If Hawaii wants to improve their strength of schedule, they should do like Fresno St has and go on the road and beat a few good teams. That's the pathway Florida State took many years ago an it worked for them.

Here's the thing, if Hawaii played in the PAC 10 or SEC they wouldn't be undefeated right now. They would probably have at least 4 losses. I think Jones has done a great job with the program, but you can't play a weak schedule and expect to garner a high ranking unless you're Ohio St. I'm not trying to throw salt on the wound here, but Hawaii beat a 5-6 Nevada team by 2. Nevada lost by 42 to Nebraska who finished with a 2-6 record in the Big 12. The competition just isn't there for the Warriors.

The BCS has been getting so much flak for their ever so flawed system that they decided to get us back by allowing the weak scheduled MEDIOCRE teams to profit while shutting out the true powerhouses this year. Whatever, it is pointless to argue it this seasn. The best chance for the REAL WINNERS to be redeemed is to come back next season and have NO MERCY.
Sure, Ohio State has a great looking win/loss ratio, but just look at their opponents...The SEC & Big 12 have more than 1 traditional powerhouse (probably more like 3) in their regular conference schedules EVERY SEASON. When you play a closely competitive team, you should be penalized less than a mediocre team putting up big numbers against a nobody gets rewarded.
My Kansas State Wildcats didn't even manage a bowl this season, BOO HOO. I am however a Big 12'er and KNOW that Mizzou, OU, even the fluke Jayhawks could handle Ohio State this year. WVU is a better team, they just have truly class-less, mouthy and rude fans. I cannot root for the better team if it's WVU-OSU. However, I will be a Tiger fan fr a day if they pull off a win against the team deserving of a title shot, OU. (being a KSU fan, I typically loathe the Sooners, but they're good whether I like it or not.)

Because they aren't part of the BCS. The WAC is not a BCS conference. Also, Hawaii's strength of schedule is ranked 117th. That plays a big part in the computer ranking. But I agree, that in the media and coaches poll, they should have a higher ranking. After all, they have done everything in their power, which is win every game.
But I don't think Hawaii is the best team in the nation. I think that the BCS championship should be the best two teams at the time playing each other. With that said, I think any unbeaten team like Hawaii should get a BCS bowl game a la Boise State last year.

If Hawaii wins this week, they will be going to play Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. There are still some At Larges for these smaller conferences, but only for teams like Hawaii that go 12-0.

Just because you're undefeated doesn't mean you deserve to be #1 in the country. From the other conferences you listed, the team would be at #1 because they actually play teams that don't suck. They have teams in their conference that are going to be in bowl games. I think just about every team in the SEC has a bowl bid. If any team comes out of the SEC with an undefeated season, that is saying something.

Because the computers say Hawaii has the 93rd toughest schedule out of all the division 1 teams, that is why they are not ranked number 1. Just like LSU, with 2 loses, is ranked over teams with one loss because they have a tougher schedule. The reason why no one wants to play Hawaii is because they are a good team, and they insist on a home and home. No school wants to travel 6k miles to play a game against a good team. It is just setting you up for a loss.

If Hawaii beats Washington they will go to a major bowl. Then we will see how they play against a strong team. But they have not played a strong team so far this year so it is really hard to assume they are a top team, much less #1 or 2.

The problem with the BCS is it was designed to help the rich get richer, and that leaves a lot of teams on the outside. Hawaii hasn't played the so-called "big games", so that hurts the team. Too much of the conversation is on strength of schedule, when honestly it shouldn't. The only way to determine who's worthy of being ranked highly is to decide it on the field...not look at a schedule and say "these teams are better than those teams". I bet if you attended the practices, spring games, and training sessions at Hawaii, they would look just like every other school. And I bet the injuries the players sustain aren't as weak as their schedules, so....
Bottom line...give the Warriors a chance. If they blow their oppertunity by 40 points...so be it. At least they got the chance to compete, instead of the BCS, coaches, and writers deciding not to invite them to their "party".

Strength of Scheldrel and because of the previous years, Hawaii came into this season ranked very low and they havnt had too hard of games so that makes it almost imposible for them to get a bid to the National Championship game and I believe they would lose ne ways.
