1. Allow yourself some time to be upset. I give one week per year. Therefore, if friend/bf gives me the elbow after 3 years, I allow myself some nonsense like crying for 3 weeks.

2. Keep very busy - even if its a struggle. After the 'mourning period' you make sure you are seeing good friends and relatives as much as possible and forbid yourself to talk about the rejection after 5 minutesin their company. That way they wont dread seeing you and you need to be distracted anyway.

3. Never contact the prat that rejected you even if you feel that there are unanswered questions. Write it all down in a letter but do not send. You will probably never get the satisfaction of a reasonable answer anyway so you would be wasting your time and it does your pride no good!

4. The best revenge is to live well. If you want the person who rejected you to think twice about what they have done, then make sure they see you wildly happy and busy and moving on with your life.

5. Be good to yourself. Sometimes you need to remind you that you are okay - make sure you tell the reflection in the mirror that they are great. Pull funny faces and make yourself laugh (releases happy hormones). Do this daily until you feel like a prat and not a 'survivor'. The need wears off when you are fine!!!

Thats it. Simple rules. Happy life.

Have a big, big cry, feel utterly sorry for yourself - its normal to and you deserve to take time out to feel that way. Then begin the healing process. Talk to your mates about it... get it outta your system. Start making yourself have a good time, even if you dont feel like it at first.

The important thing is that you dont dwell too much. Everyone gets rejected more than once and its gutting. But its one of lifes lessons and it will make you appreciate real love when you finally find it.

This is the time to really re-bond with your mates and rediscover your childhood - spend a few nights together being utterly silly.... try to enjoy matey!

I agree with Rock Star - move onto the next thing. No point in hanging around wishing for something that'll never happen - rise above it all and move on and get yourself something better. Replacement is the best cure for rejection.

Just say fair enough and think of all the reasons why you didn't need whatever rejected you anyway. And then go find something better.

At times like this you should speak with your good friends, the ones that you know won't let you down. Go out tomorrow and treat yourself and make a new start. Best wishes.

Being rejected makes you feel un-loved and un-lovable and this causes most people to feel stuck in relationships and other areas of your life. Know that you can feel bad and recover from feeling bad.

maintain your dignity, keep your pride, held your chin up... walk with all the confidence in the world and think that you are better than the one who rejected you, why? because you do not deserve him!
