But my motherboard has Ethernet! I just destructive restored my computer last night, before then the Ethernet connection on my motherboard worked just fine.

Will I have to get a network card? I just sent my wife to get on while shopping and the employee at the store told her that all we need to do is reinstall the program correctly (which as far as I can tell, I am)

I figured that the recovery disc that I used had the driver for all those, though they may need to be updated I guess.

It's an E Machine if that makes a difference. I went to their website and the only drivers I saw for download were for video.

sorry if the question is misleading, I don't have a separate Ethernet card, the Ethernet is on the motherboard.

You need to download and install the driver for the ethernet card from the web site of your computer manufacturer (unless you have it on a CD that came with your computer). While you are at it you may need to download and re-install the drivers for other hardware such as your video card, display, modem, etc.

If you had to reinstall your OS, then you will need to install the network adapter cards drivers and software. Just pop the CD that come with the card and install the drivers and software, and your qwest modem should then be able to talk with your adapter again. The driver is a small software program used for a device to "talk" with other devices, and the OS. Without the driver(s) hardware is just inert objects incapable of doing anything but use electricity.

Good luck and I hope all works out for you, and a nice holiday season.
