Made a really stupid mistake, pulled in to the gas station and accidently hit the guard protecting the pumps, it left a yellow scratch that isn't bad at all but how can i go about getting it out.

Buy some rubbing compound and use a wet rag. Put the rubbing compound on the rag and buff the scratched area until the yellow paint comes off. You'll need to rewax the area when you are done.

Car wax will often be able to take out minor scratches and scapes. Make sure your car is clean and dry and not in direct sunglight, then rub some wax onto the paint mark/scratch in a small circular motion using a clean cloth. Allow the wax to dry to a haze, then wipe/buff it off with a clean cloth.

If this doesn't completely take off the yellow paint and repair the scratch, there are other more aggressive scratch removers available at any auto parts store that will probably do the trick. If the guard scratched the paint off of your car to the point where bare metal is exposed, be sure to use touch up paint to cover the bare metal - otherwise your car will eventually rust.

If the scratch isn't deep (like all the way down to the metal), you can take some polishing compound (not rubbing compound) and rub it out. Some waxes are wax/cleaners and will remove surface contaminants and may remove the yellow paint that came off of the guard.

Very light rubbing compound, or even wax and a buffer should take that right out.

This is assuming that when you said that you have a yellow scratch, that your car is not yellow, that you are reffering to the yellow traffic paint on the barrier transferring to your car.

A buffer is ideal for this, but if you do not have one, just keep wet wax or fine compound on the area and put alot of elbow grease into it and it will come out.

Good luck with it.

Is it a scratch or transfer of paint?

I like using what is called "automotive clay" for removing surface contaminants. You buy a package of clay and lubricant at an automotive shop. Nead the clay, put some lubricant and GENTLY rub the affected area. It will lift the surface contaminants without scratching the painted metal underneath.

Polishing compound and a little elbow grease.

Polishing compound is a little finer than rubbing compound and will leave a better finish. But will work a little slower.
