Using social engineering to gets someones password or hack someones hotmail account with hacker tools without their permission is very illegal.

If they use the same computer you do, then you can install a "keystroke recorder" which would surreptitiously record all of their keystrokes and mouse clicks. This would, in theory, allow you to recover their hotmail password from a session they login with.

Even if you guess correctly, it's still illegal. Hotmail logs IP addresses, and if you commit fraud, they can get your name and address from your ISP and have you prosecuted.

1) Ask them for it and give them a real convincing argument for giving it to you.

2) Spy on them from outside their window. Be sure to dress in all black, wear a ski mask and bring binoculars.
