The way children are growing in this generation, that's extremely normal. All the younger kids in my family, including my two boys are really tall, and none of them are older than 17 years old. With each new generation, the kids seem to fill out quicker and grow taller. No worries! Who knows? At some point, she might just slow down and not get any taller.

I am 14, and 6ft 2, however I am male, at 12 I was about 5 ft 8, she just has a tall family and has started pubity very early. People mistake me for a 20 year old, my record is 25 when I was 13, some people are just like that, she wont be freakishly tall, she'll just stop growing early, or start to grow far more slowly.
Note though, my dad is 5 ft 7, and my mum, 5 ft 8. So it could be somehting other than genes? Like food we eat nowadays, that have chemicals in them.

She will definately still grow, in fact she probably has not even had a growth spurt yet, so she could end up 5 inches or so taller than her father, it depends on whether she loves mayonnaise or not;the more someone loves mayonnaise, they taller they end up; most young people these days absolutely love mayonnaise, that is why people are getting taller and taller.Mustard, on the other hand stunts people's growth, almost all young people i.e. adolescents hate mustard with a passion.

You say her father is very tall - of course it is normal. If you have any doubt, take her to the doctor and have him/her check her general health.
Kids today get more supplements than we might have. Practically everything you pick up is fortified with vitamins and minerals.
I hope you all won't make her feel any more self-conscious than she probably does if she towers over the rest of the class. I wouldn't want her to ruin her posture by hunching her shoulders. You might want to point out to her that models are tall.

coming from a girl that is 6"0 to 6"1 as a 16 year old, I can say that she could just have grown all she will early in her life, so she may be almost done growing, or she could take after her father and continue to grow, but for girls, your either short, average, or very tall. Has she started her period yet, because girls are usually done growing about a year after they start. I hope that helps!

My stepdaughter is almost thirteen, 5'8" and a size eleven shoe (we can't share shoes anymore :D). I think she's going to be like a puppy, and grow to fit her feet. Guessing she'll top out at 5'10 or 11".
She is a very healthy girl. I wouldn't worry about your niece unless there is something other than height the matter with her.
Most teen girls want to be fashion models, but aren't tall enough. At least our girls are tall enough, eh? It's nice to have options.

I reached my full height of 5'9" at 14 so she could just quit growing early or she could end up being 6 feet tall or taller like some women I know.

It is possible. My little cousin just turned 12 in October and she's about 5' 8'' as well and she wears a size 9 1/2 shoe. Her parents aren't that much taller than her and her mom wears a size 5 shoe.

What is normal?
I have a god daughter who is ten and taller than me. I'm 5 foot 7 and she can lean on my shoulder.
She may continue to grow and she may stop.
Doctors say rest helps you grow, so she must be getting all the sleep she needs.
This is how supermodels and ball playing girls are born. I'm envious.

Is that normal? No, she's just a tall girl. My daughter isn't quite 12 and she's 5 foot 4.
