custom emoticons are stored in C:/Documents And Settings//Application Data/Microsoft/MSN Messenger/custom emoticons

there the emoticons are named randomly and end in .dat, copy the files somewhere else and rename to .gif

notes: is your windows username you use to log in
is obviously the number of your passport. there is a program out there that can tell you what the number is for your account or you can just check each folder
Stuffplug can save the custom emoticons of anyone who had sent you recently, they don't nececeraly have to be ripped

Why do you have to reformat the hard drive???

Regardless, the solution is simple:
Stop downloading "Kiwee" (whatever that is!) images!!!

BTW, happy "emoticons" are stored in a happy place on your computer; sad "emoticons" are stored in a sad place; bad emoticons are stored in the deepest, darkest, nether regions of your computer's disk, where it's really, really, hot and nasty, and a guy with horns and hooves tortures them day and night! ;)
