I stopped watching that station for that same reason. Too many crappy shows in general, but then again even the music videos are crap too. This decade was too soft and uninspired when it comes to music. All the hard rockers are all turning emo and they think emo is so tragic.... No, it's the music from the 80s and 90's are worth listening to. That's all!!!

Mtv was good in the beginning (1980) w/ original VJ's ---Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter, J.J. Jackson, and Martha Quinn....they played music videos 24/7...but all good things come to an end---unfortunately, the success of Mtv through the years has drastically changed it into extreme commercialism.......

I blame "the real world" First broadcast in 1992, the show is the longest-running program in MTV history.
they got SOOO many people watching it, that they decided to change their format.....
Demographics.................
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics
also changed the type of music they played.......
they might as well call it

No Music And Even If We Had Some, You'd Probably Not Like It Television
I think MTV fell apart about 18 years ago.

i know what you mean.
it's because the music industry is real repetitive right now. it's hard for artists to make money & the easiest way to make money on television is through reality shows. they involve very little writing & inexpensive production.
i want my (old) MTV!!!

MTV and VH1 suck, that's why. Watch Fuse -- they still show music videos.
