I already answered this but a pap smear is not necessary if you aren't sexually active. Trust me, the discharge is normal.

This is completely normal, healthy vaginal discharge. All childbearing-age women have it to one degree or another. You would be unhealthy if you *didn't* have it. You are correct that it is often a sticky gel. It can have the consistency of egg whites.

According to GoAskAlice:
"Common to all women, normal vaginal secretions help vaginas stay healthy by regularly flushing them out and maintaining their normally acidic environment. Healthy vaginal juices can have a mild scent, or no aroma at all, and can be:

* Clear or milky white when moist
* Yellowish in color when dried
* Mucus-like or stringy in consistency
* Heavier:

* during midcycle, when ovulation occurs
* when sexually aroused
* during pregnancy
* when using birth control pills"

It is not necessary to get a pap test if you've never had sex. Pap tests don't have anything to do with vaginal discharge anyway--pap tests check for abnormal cervical cells that could possibly be precancerous. Cervical cancer is caused by HPV which is an STD, so if you've never had sex, this is not an issue.

This is natural in most all women to one extent or another.

Girls need to be grown women and know what is going on with their bodies before young men see their "discharge".

Sex needs to be planned for so these things are taken care of . A simple warm water douche will improve the situation for cleanliness. Cleanliness is next to men and women when having sex. It makes it much better, Of course birth control is FIRST.

Inside your "woman parts" there is a mucous membrane. This is not entirely unlike the mucous in your nose. It is sticky, goopy, and all around unattractive. It's there to aid with lubrication during intercourse. I wouldn't worry too much about it if I were you.

This is probably normal, but if you have concerns, check for changes in the color and amount.

Hi, sounds perfectly normal to me, we all have a natural lubrication down there that will always be present. As long as it is not giving off an offensive odour or is greenish in colour its fine. As for a pap smear - have one, it doesn't matter whether you are sexually active or not, they are life savers. They can be embarrassing when you first have them but are completely painless and over in minutes.

Yes a pap is necessary.
It could be a yeast infection.
It could be bacterial vaginosis.
It could be an STD , if some one has "fingered" you.
It could be just a heavier discharge.
Does it smell funny?? If so its probably bacteria.
If you dont have insurance go to planned parenthood... they can check you for free.
