Earthquakes can change the features of the land. Parts can sink. Parts can rise. New cracks can form or new hills and valleys.

Human life is not directly affected by EQs, but rather by the damage EQs cause. Bulidings and bridges that collapse and fires that start cost many lives.

Animal life is a bit more adaptable but habitats can be destroyed costing the life of the animal or forcing it migrate.
