I love the Toll house chocolate chip with walnuts but also love snowballs! I end up making enough cookies for the US army and end up giving half to neighbors and friends! Its the fun and the small of the house that makes baking awesome! Peanut Butter cookies r awesome too! Its tough to pick a favorite!

My grandmother's sugar cookies. She's long since passed away and my aunt (her daughter) still makes them. They bring back good memories every time I take a bite. She used to put so much time into decorating them, sometimes they were too pretty to eat. But as a kid it's one of my favorite memories.

Here is my favorite and the recipe in case you'd like to try making them. They're wonderful! The recipe doesn't specify the kind of apple to use. I suggest "granny smith" because they hold up better.

Will's Famous Apple Jack Cookies

1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup chopped unpeeled apples

Cream together sugar and shortening. Beat in egg. Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture. Beat until well blended. Stir in apples. Drop in the shape of a ball on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Mom used to make three colors of decorated sugar cookies, M&M cookies, butterscotch drop cookies, ginger snaps and lemon bars every Christmas for over 45 years. Gosh, I miss her cookies (and her!). She would give all us kids a huge tin of them each year, along with a crock of cheese from Wisconsin that she'd order and have sent to us. Just for holiday snacking. It was really good.
