Superstition? None that I know of.
The term simply means that someone is "overly anxious" to pull the trigger and shoot someone or something. Also has been applied to any situation where someone is anxious to act before they should.

It isn't necessarily a supersitition as an analogy regarding the desire to pull the trigger of a gun, possibly in the direction of someone that has caused this desire.
