So very much has happened since I got up out of bed for the first time...
The cars lost their running boards, wings, rumble seats..and when I took drivers training at 14 years of age, we had to learn everything under the hood and it's function before we could get behind the wheel ( now it's so complicated under there the only thing I can do is add to the windshield wiper fluid)
and Dad made us learn to change a tire before he'd let us drive the family car, even with him with us.
You could get your license at 15 back then..and your permit 3 months before your 15th birthday..drivers training was offered in 9th grade
and there was not nearly the traffic on the roads..

Not only that, but I also wonder whether I will make a difference in this world. I am so small in such a big world, yet, we hear the saying pretty often... 'the world is so small'. And with today's technology I think the world is even smaller. But still, the minute I hope to make a difference in this world I realize how small I am indeed. I am a small person with huge dreams and that in itself makes me get up in the morning. Even if I could just make a difference in my immediate area for the moment, I know I took one step in my big purpose on earth.

Yes it is amazing what technology can come up with today and a bit scary at what still lies ahead - but yes you need a reason to want to stand up, an appointment at the hairdresser, meeting a lady friend for tea or lunch, doing some voluntary work at a charity function, a hobby, maybe a visit to Carousel or just taking a walk with friends for exercise - it is important to be active and involved particularly once you retired and not feel useless because no one needs to feel that way and it is your choice not to

You know the saying "Today is the first day of the rest of your life" I take that statement literally. I spent so many years thinking if I had more money my life would be happy or if I had a better love life my life would be happy, etc., etc...... then one day I woke up and decided to be excited about waking up each morning, and to be happy no matter what.

I'm not really curious about all the new technology coming about. When I do get up though it's so I don't look like a loser who sleeps all day, and so that I can play with and feed my cute little pets.

Mostly my job. I get a charge thinking that I am going to garnish someone's wages or reposses their car or boat! This is what keeps me going now and everyday and I make good money. What else is there?

I wake up because my cats bug me to feed them until I drag myself out of bed.
And yes, I do wonder what the future will be. But, I mostly tend to enjoy the present. For all we know, the future can be what we least expect it to be.
